Here are some of the pole line accessories that you are likely to use for your project: Pole Bands A pole band is used as a point or platform for creating secondary racks to the pole. It is sometimes referred t as a fastening clamp or simply a pole fastener. Guy Wire Also known as a stay wire, this hardware is usually used for enhancing the stability of the pole. It balances the load that is on the electric pole. Stay wire is usually assembled with other accessories such as pole bracket, guy thimble, and stay rod so that it can attach to the pole and ground.Guy wires must have high tensional strength to sustain the forces against it. Anchor Rods You will have to buy guy anchor whenever your project entails attaching guy wires onto the power line. The anchor plays the role of connecting the guy wire to the ground.A guy anchor should be strong and have adequate tensile strength to support the force of the wire. Guy Clamps You will need the best Guy Clamp to secure the strands of guy wire. The clamp comprises two pieces of carbon steel that are designed to form a parallel groove. The design of the clamp ensures that there is minimum damage caused on the strands of the guy wires. Guy Grip Also known as a dead-end grip, this pole line hardware is usually used on the distributed cables. • Hot Forging Process and Its Advantages
Hot Forging According to the forging temperature, forging can be classified into hot forging, cold forging and warm forging. Most metal components intended to be forged are performed under hot forging. Hot forging is the most widely used forging process. In hot forging process, forging is carried out at a temperature above the recrystallization temperature of the metal which means at the temperature at which the new grains are formed in the metal. This kind of extreme heat is necessary in avoiding strain hardening of the metal during deformation. In real conditions during industrial manufacturing, friction plays a part in the process. Friction forces at the die-work interface oppose the spreading of the material near the surfaces, while the material in the centre can expand more easily. The result is to create a barrel shape to the part. This effect is called barreling in metal forging terms. Barreling is generally undesirable and can be controlled by the use of effective lubrication. Another consideration, during hot forging manufacturing process, which usually acts to increase the barreling effect, is the heat transfer between the hot metal and the cooler die. The metal nearer to the die surfaces cool faster than the metal towards the centre of the part. The cooler material is more resistant to deformation and expands less than the hotter material in the centre, also causing a barreling effect. The Advantages of Hot Forging are: High strain rates and hence easy flow of the metal. Recrystallization and recovery are possible. Forces required are less. Disadvantages of Hot Forging are: Lubrication at high temperatures is difficult. Oxidation and scaling occur on the work piece. Poor surface finish. Lesser precise tolerances. Possible warping of the material during the cooling process.

  • Expanding Anchor
Bust Expanding Anchor The Bust Expanding Anchor is a type of hardware used in pole line construction. It is designed to provide a secure and stable anchor point for poles and other structures. The anchor consists of a steel rod with a tapered end and a conical-shaped expansion shell. When the anchor is inserted into a pre-drilled hole in the ground, a mechanical tool is used to expand the shell, causing it to grip the surrounding soil and create a tight, stable hold. Bust expanding anchors are designed for installing in holes augured. A piece is a formed anchor having a base and wings. A retainer is also present holding the nut from the forged eye rod, which often comes separately. In the installation, a hole to the anchor`s size is augured parallel with the guy angle and to a size based on the length of the rod. This rod is secured to the expanding and is lowered to the hole. The expanding and tamping tool is deployed for striking the anchor top and open these blades into the soil. The cave is backfilled and then tamped later. The curved head (expander and tamper) is used to distribute the bar weight around the anchor rod evenly to reduce the handle vibration. The bar hook wraps around the bust anchor rod to keep the expanding head from getting off the anchor top plate. The anchors are often coated with a rust inhibitor for maximum protection. The bust expanding anchor of good quality comes with the following features: Bust" Expanding Anchors expand to take full advantage of the eight blade wedges to expand into undisturbed soil. Painted with black paint Nut retainer on bottom of anchor holds nut in place during installation The effectiveness of the anchor is dependent upon proper size hole and the thoroughness of backfill tamping Most often, the anchors are hot-dip galvanized for maximum protection against corrosion. Also, the excellent quality products should come with the ability to be installed on the street light foundations on an immediate basis. • WEDGE STYLE ANCHORS EXPANDING ROCK
Expanding Rock Anchor Expanding Rock anchors are designed for anchoring Wind Towers in solid rock. They are constructed of a threaded rod with integral eye and two opposing wedge halves. The anchor is placed in a hole pre-drilled in the rock. Twisting the eye of the anchor forces the wedges against the sides of the hole, locking the anchor in place. Load actually increases the wedging force and develops holding power equal to the full tensile strength of the rod. When anchoring in either bare rock or solid rock covered by soil, rock anchors provide an extremely strong anchor point without the use of concrete. Rock anchor is installed into the unweathered rock to develop the full strength and stability of the anchor rod. The rock anchor features triple eyes that provide space for up to three guy connections. A hole of the specified size is drilled into the rock and it should be in line with the angle of the guy. The rock anchor is inserted and a bar that passes through the eye turns the rod. The eye grooves of the rock anchor are contoured to prevent the guy strands from kinking, bending, or even spreading. The good thing about rock anchor is it does not require a wrench for the installation. The design of the anchor gives allowance for self-installation. The ability of the anchor to bore through rocks also helps to save time and the cost of labor that is required for the boring process. When it comes to drawing a comparison, the cost of installing rock anchor is way lesser than that of installing through the grouting method. Rock anchor is galvanized according to the ASTM A123. Its wedges are coated with a rust inhibitor which ensures that it lasts for long regardless of the environment of the installation. It also has high tensile strength that makes it withstand all sorts of forces.

  • THIMBLE ANCHOR ROD
Thimble Anchor Rod The Thimble Anchor Rod is an important component for utility and telephone poles, it is also called guy anchor rod, guy wire anchor rod, thimble rod, or thimble eye anchor rod. One end of a guy anchor rod is connected to a stay wire by a guy clamp, and the other end is fixed to types of earth anchors buried under the ground. This design is to make the line pole fixed on the ground firmly by the guy wire anchor up pull strength. According to the design, there are rods for cross-plate anchors and expanding anchors, rods for manta ray anchors, no-wrench anchors, and rock anchors. The anchor rods are dropped forged to single, double, or three-strand eyes. The alternative anchor rods are furnished with oval eyes together with an equivalent number of wire strand thimbles. All thimbles size accommodates the size of the stay wire strand. The anchor rod has a strong and durable physical property to withstand storms and disasters. To ensure the safety and steady of the pole line, it`s important to use a high-quality anchor rod to install the overhead power lines. Part of the anchor rod that easily gets rusty is 30cm to the ground and 50cm under the ground. Considering it easily gets rusty to bury the anchor rod under the ground, the diameter is usually 2-4mm bigger. The main process of making the guy anchor rods is hot forging. Yokelink uses a high-frequency furnace to heat the rod until it turns red, and then polish the iron oxide. Finally, punch the red-hot metal head into a double eye or thimble eye shape. The surface treatment of the anchor rod is hot-dip galvanization to protect the anchor rod from getting rusty even during rainy and salty conditions. When you need Thimble Eye Rods, refer to above our catalog. We offer them in a full selection of sizes, provide the length, diameter or part number to get a quote on these rods, leave your message, or send us an email.
